About me & my work
My name is Kevin Mackay and I've been designing websites in some capacity or other since 2000. My first website, Tinnud.co.uk, was a popular games website selling new and used games. It attracted over 3,500 unique visitors a day at it's peak and has recently been re-launched as Tinnud.com.
I initially taught myself the basics of web design and learnt html and the fundementals of good web design by researching online. However, I decided that, if I was to extend my knowledge, I would need to complete a professional web design course. I chose to learn Adobe Dreamweaver and Flash and this helped fill in the gaps from my previous researching. I've designed many websites over the past few years and still enjoy the satisfaction gained from a project well done.
Affordability is a key issue in today's market. As a freelance web designer my overheads are minimal and I pass these savings onto my clients. My web design services start from £50 for a one page html website and increase incrementally depending on the type of website you are looking for. See below for a list of my services.
Pricing a website is therefore based on a number of elements. To give you and idea of what sort of cost your website may be please contact me for more information.
Website Design: Basic html websites, CMS websites, E-commerce and Logo design.
Maintenance: Having a website does entail some degree of maintenance. There's nothing worse than viewing a website that has outdated content. I can update broken links, out of date copyright details and ensure your website stays fresh. Options include an hourly rate or monthly maintenance contract.
Consultation: If you need some friendly advice or help on running your website then feel free to get in touch. I'm more than happy to give free advice without obligation on all things web related.

Keep it relevant: If your website is all about the latest plastic manufacturing processes then ensure your content is relevant to this. Talking about the decline of honey bees in the UK won't help you in search engine results as your keyword density won't be relevant to your meta tags.
Flash: Used in moderation flash can help turn a good website into a fantastic website. But, as with anything, too much can put visitors off and damage your search engine positioning.
Contact: Make sure your contact details are easy to find. This will help build trust in your brand and will give your customers confidence in your services.
Keep it simple: Don't clutter your pages with unnecessary content. Keep your navigation links simple and easy to find. A cluttered website will put potential customers off as they won't hang around to make sense of it.
Plan: Planning is the key to a successful website. By asking questions about your project I will be able to plan how your website will function once it is completed.
